Emma, Ben, Hudson, Ewan and Georgia

We had our third baby in April 2014; second baby with Cheryl. Again, we had such a wonderful experience. Cheryl was so supportive and stable. She really made the environment we wanted to birth in secure and protected our desires. What Cheryl offers is so much more than just having someone there holding your hand. The advice and support that Cheryl gave before, during and after the birth helped put me in the best frame of mind and I truly believe I was then able to have the birth I had hoped for; a healthy 3.138 baby girl, in 3 hours of active labour, drug free and no tearing or intervention. She protected my space and let me birth, how any woman should be treated. We want to thank you so much again Cheryl, for all your help and the only regret we have is that we didn’t have you for our first baby.

Extract from Emma’s birth story…

"It was 2:16pm. Whilst we waited for that beautiful cry Ben looked at me with this unforgettable smile and said it’s a girl! I knew he was going to say that before he did. It was so amazing. Our Georgia Jeanne was finally here. Tears streamed down my face. I couldn’t believe it, even though deep down I hoped I was carrying a girl. After two beautiful boys we now have this precious girl. We were so thrilled and so lucky. Then out came a huge cry from our new bub and straight into Dads arms where she managed to lock on and suckle his forearm. Our hungry girl made her way straight onto my chest where she stayed uninterrupted for the next hour or more. With some guidance from Cheryl she crawled to my nipple and fed straight away and pretty much didn’t stop for 48 hours until my milk started to come in.

I feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful birth and feel the intimate support from Ben and Cheryl made this possible. Welcome to the world Georgia Jeanne.”

“ Cheryl was a great support and always full of useful information and supplied us with reading materials, CD’s, DVD’s and books so we were fully informed of the stages of labour, comforting positions, pain relief choices if we needed them, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques etc etc.

By the time my baby was due I felt very confident that I could labour successfully and handle anything that was thrown our way. ”
